About

Musical Instrument Service, affectionately known as "Pete’s", was established in the summer of 1969 when Pete Rodriguez returned to San Antonio and began repairing musical instruments in his garage. By 1983, the shop expanded to accommodate more equipment and a front counter. Over the years, Pete’s wife Arje and sons Hugo and Leo contributed significantly. Hugo served as General Manager until his passing in 2020. Since 2022, Hugo’s eldest son Eric has led the shop under its new entity, Musical Instrument Service, LLC. Today, the Rodriguez family, alongside lifelong musician friends, proudly manage the shop. Pete remains actively involved, especially with horn repairs. We provide custom, quality, and affordable musical instruments!
